"The Rise of Hope" Status.

I haven't posted in a really, really long time and I apologize for that. Unfortunately, I still must have a separate job that pays the bills and then my writing career on the side. The good news is that I haven't been idle. I have been working slowly, patiently, and diligently on "The Rise of Hope" as writing time has presented itself. I've never--yet--had writer's block and that is still the case. I've got a strong and detailed outline of what remains to be written, why it's necessary to the overall story, and exactly how it fits into the mosaic of "A Throne of Souls."

So, my update is this: I have 151,000 words done in the first draft of "The Rise of Hope." That's a big book! Considerably larger (already) than "The Fall of Hate" and I'm not done yet. I've got about ten chapters remaining before I can send it to the Editor as a first draft. From there it takes several weeks to make a first-pass edit, then it will go to the Proofreader, and then back to the Editor for a final pass. And, I'll likely have some interjecting content along that path as well. That's all normal.

So, I don't want to give you a release date until at least I've sent the first draft to the Editor, but it's coming. I'm not in any dire need of content to finish either Book 4 or Book 5, which will finish out this entire series completely.

The hardest part about writing this series is making the time to write what I know needs to be written, how it needs to be written, and in a technical but elegant style that is still as thought provoking as ever.

To give you some idea of how out of sorts I've been in this writing process, I haven't even begun the cover artwork yet. I just want to get the writing done! It has been such a struggle to find time to write, I wanted that to come first this time w/o all the distractions that come with managing the artwork, which can be a significant time suck. The cover art--I promise--will be as good or better than all the others that have come before. I've never had a shortage of ideas as to what makes the right cover for a given book and that hasn't changed.

I'll try to give more frequent updates, especially after I get the first draft manuscript off to the Editor, but I just wanted to assure you that a) I'm still breathing; and b) I'm still committed to finishing this story and I'm going to make it happen. Granted, it won't be on the timeline I had originally hoped: finishing everything by EOY 2019. Now, it's looking more like EOY 2021, but I'm getting it done as rapidly as my very, very busy schedule allows. I suppose the good news about that is that the story is catching on... It's more than doubled in readership since my last update and with more readership, that provides a greater possibility of a screenplay adaptation at some point in the future and we'd all love to see that!

I have to go and get back to my weekend life and spend some time with my youngest son before our weekend is over. He'll be three very soon! Can't believe it!

Blessings and joy to you...
